Tournament of reading challenge

Image
I'm also joining Medieval Bookworm's " Tournament of Reading" challenge .  I'm very excited about this one, as medieval lit has always been a favorite of mine.  Here are the rules:  This challenge is designed to get us all reading a little more medieval literature in 2010. The challenge will run from January 1st to December 31st, 2010, and will be hosted right here at Medieval Bookworm. Challenge genres include history, medieval literature, and historical fiction. Medieval, for simplicity of definition, will be from 500-1500, and literature from all over the world is welcome, not just western Europe. There are 3 levels: Peasant – Read 3 medieval books of any kind. Lord – Read 6 medieval books, at least one of each kind. King – Read 9 medieval books, at least two of each kind. I'm very tempted to go right ahead and aim at the "King" level.  Here are a few preliminary picks: History The history of the medieval world , by Susan Wise Bauer Literature

That adds up to a book a week.  Fun!  This challenge is running on the " Read 52 book in 52 weeks " blog by Robin.  Here are the basics: The goal is to read one book (at least) a week for 52 weeks. The rules are very simple:   1. The challenge will run from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010.     2. Participants may join at any time.   3. All forms of books are acceptable including e-books, audio books, etc.   4. Re-reads are acceptable as long as they are read after January 1, 2010.   5. Books may overlap other challenges.   6. Create an entry post linking to this blog.   So, once a week or so I'll post what I've been reading.  But I can't start until tomorrow!

Where's the fanfare? Here's my book blog!

All right, I have given in to the Dark Side and am going to blog about books I read.  I'm always wanting to join reading challenges, and you're supposed to have a blog, so here I am.  Ta-da!  The actual challenges will follow...
